Our Story

Before Transmission Control became a trusted signal in the noise of infection prevention, it was an idea that began with a clear focus: patient safety in medical devices, aimed specifically at infection preventionists. But as the content evolved, it began to attract interest from a broader audience - OEMs, biomedical engineers, and clinical techs.

Infection Prevention and Public Health pros had no dedicated digital space to call their own. No real platform for community, collaboration, or cutting-edge conversations. So in 2021 we launched Transmission Control—a podcast in collaboration with medical device expert Larry Muscarella and co-host Justin Poulin. The project shifted when it became clear that interest was spiking among IP professionals hungry for broader clinical content. We listened and began to pivot to IP-driven content, created by and for infection preventionists, like our Editor-in-Chief, Garrett Hollembeak, and other IP thought leaders like Jill Holdsworth.

The most valuable outcomes so far? Genuine professional friendships built on a shared commitment to integrity and staying informed in a fast-moving IP industry.

Welcome to the network. We’re just getting started because Infection Stops where Information Starts!
